Lobs & Lessons ‘Ace’ Student: Anaya
Anaya is one of the standout students at Lobs & Lessons. Her passion for tennis was apparent from the beginning and she wanted to learn more. In order to learn more tennis, Anaya had the opportunity to come an extra day of the week and get special instruction in a smaller group. These lessons would cost a small amount including transportation to and from Lobs & Lessons.
Anaya knew that her family would not be able to provide funding or transportation for extra tennis, but her mother wanted her to have the opportunity. Her mother contacted Lobs & Lessons to find out how we could work together to provide Anaya with more tennis opportunities. Lobs & Lessons offered Anaya a scholarship for the extra tennis lessons and her mother took the bus in the evenings to bring Anaya to and from her lessons.
Most of the students that attend the Lobs & Lessons program come from single parent homes that do not have personal transportation. When Lobs & Lessons is able to work with parents the impact on the student is far greater than what can be accomplished alone.
